Neck Flex Amazon reviews: 234 ratings, every review published
Last updated 14 August 2026 · Published by Gonza LLC · How we verify quotes
The short version
- Neck Flex sold four products on Amazon from December 2022 to early 2026, then left the platform. Not a suspension — the company withdrew. Amazon's fee structure on a premium, hand-assembled kit meant a large share of every sale went to the platform rather than into the product or back to the customer.
- 234 ratings. A weighted average of 4.4 stars. A median of 5 stars. 68% of all ratings were five stars; 83% were four or five. Five per cent were one-star.
- The MMB Pro Series is the standout: 4.7 stars from 74 ratings, with zero one-star reviews. That is a higher rating than all ten of the most-reviewed neck harnesses on Amazon.
- Every review is published below — best first, worst last, each negative answered underneath. The listings are still live, and every quote links to its source.
Why did Neck Flex leave Amazon?
Because the platform's economics don't fit a premium kit, and the money it absorbed was better spent on materials and on the customer.
The Neck Flex isn't a single strap. It ships as a kit — a harness built from Kevlar® or ballistic nylon with felt padding, a snap-proof band, a door anchor, a chain on the Pro and Ballistic models, and a bag to keep it in. That costs real money to make. Between referral fees, fulfilment, storage surcharges and return processing, Amazon took a large share of gross revenue on every one of them, and the only ways to absorb that are to cheapen the product or to raise the price. Neither was acceptable, so we left and now sell direct, where the margin goes into the materials and the price instead of into the platform.
Three other things made the decision easier. Organic visibility on Amazon has largely been replaced by paid placement, so you pay to list a product and then pay again so anyone can see it. On a marketplace that ranks heavily by price, cheaper reverse-engineered copies routinely outrank the patented original — Neck Flex holds five U.S. patents on the device, and enforcement there is a permanent expense rather than a fix. And Amazon masks the buyer's email address, so a customer with a warranty problem has no direct line to the maker. One review below is from a man whose velcro strap failed inside a year. He should have been sent a replacement. We had no way to reach him.
None of that is a complaint about the reviews. The reviews were good. That is why this page exists.
What were the Neck Flex's Amazon ratings?

Combined figures are weighted by rating count and derived from Amazon's own published star distributions. The three main listings appear on 16 marketplaces sharing one global review pool, so nothing is summed across locales.
The MMB Pro Series: 4.7 stars, zero one-star reviews
The MMB Pro is the best-reviewed product Neck Flex sold on Amazon: 4.7 stars from 74 ratings, 85% of them five-star, and not a single one-star review.
Named for Mike "The Machine" Bruce, the MMB Pro sits between the Original and the Ballistic — chain-capable, with the dog-ear buckles and the heavier padding. In 74 ratings it never drew a one-star review, which is unusual at any volume.
That 4.7 is higher than all ten of the most-reviewed neck harnesses on Amazon. Not one of the category's high-volume products is rated above 4.6, including every Iron Neck listing.
And 85% of its ratings are five-star — the highest five-star percentage of any neck training harness on Amazon with 50 or more ratings. We checked all 25 products in that group on 15 August 2026 and read the star distribution off each listing. The next highest are G GABANTT at 80%, Nisrok at 77% and Hustle Athletics at 76%.
On the zero one-star reviews: that is a true zero rather than a rounding artifact. Amazon publishes whole-number percentages, so on a large listing a "0%" can conceal one or two reviews — but at 74 ratings a single one-star review would be 1.35%, which displays as 1%. The distribution also reconciles exactly: 85/7/5/3/0 of 74 gives 63/5/4/2/0, which sums to 74.
| Product | Brand | Rating | Ratings |

Read from amazon.com on 14 August 2026; the ten most-reviewed genuine neck harnesses on the platform, plus the MMB Pro. Two lower-volume products are rated at or above 4.7 — a G GABANTT trainer at 4.7 from 130 ratings and a Jupiter harness at 4.8 from 35 — so the MMB Pro is not the single highest-rated harness on Amazon, and we don't claim it is. “Neck Training Kit for the Whole Family!**”
For starters, I have two energetic boys involved in football and a husband that loves our home gym. The boys use the Neck Flex because their coach told them that training neck was important for football. […] PROS: Let me start by saying I did my homework. I've personally tried various neck training / rehab gadgets for neck pain, from expensive high-tech devices to cheap and flimsy inexpensive neck harnesses. None could compare to the Neck Flex. It's not just a harness. It comes as a full neck training kit with a specific band that works for every level of strength, a door anchor for home workouts, carrying bag etc. CONS: It is more expensive than cheap harnesses. […] Also, the Original Neck Flex does not have a chain; however, the band offers plenty of resistance and the harness can hook directly to any machine with a cable.

“Do you even train neck?!”
I've been training neck for 10 years now, and I always get the new neckflexs product. The Kevlar is the best one for me. They stuck to that trademark neoprene look, which I love. The neoprene makes it comfortable to wear. I even go as high as 20lbs attached to the harness when I'm doing my neck curls.

“Best product on the market!”
Outstanding product. I have been a customer of Neck Flex for over 10 years because I coach wrestling. Every time Neck Flex comes out with a new model, I always get in it. This new Ballistic is frankly overkill with how durable it is. But it is much more comfortable with the felt padding. And it's a Neck Flex, so you can work out your neck and every way possible. Including the bands which we use in circuit training, or hook it to a weight stack or just plates. Be careful buying cheap harnesses from China. I'm know from experience, they break. The kits from Neck Flex from over 10 years ago are still going strong, including the bands. 5 out of 5 stars for sure.

“Excellent neck training kit”
I received this Neck Flex Kit and finished my first workout with it. I did a home workout with the snap proof band and it was great. I chose to spend a little extra because you get what you pay for and training your neck can be dangerous: if a band snaps or the harness breaks, you can get injured. I have used other harnesses and this is both different and works better. It's a very comfortable fit and the materials used appear more durable.

“Easy to adjust fit in back and under the neck.”
Very comfortable. It's ready to go with chain and a stiff workout band that has a permanently attached carabiner at each end. Which is good for neck safety. […] I have a weak neck that bothers me, so I'll be using this a lot. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but very well made so I can't complain at all. I'm not surprised that there are not any one or two star reviews. I have a nine inch beard and it went into the harness without any problems! Update: After using it a little, I watched the 3 videos again. Don't tighten the neck strap much at all. Tighten the two straps in the back really tight. That makes it grab the head firmly and then it's really comfortable.

“8 month review pros and cons”
I been using the NeckFlex, for 8 months. Pros: Great for working the side of the neck I do these standing. Great for working the front of the neck I do these standing. Great for working the back of the neck I do these with chain and a weight. I pretend im a wild bull on a rampage. Very comfortable and adjustable and heavy duty. A very good neck pump. Cons: Dog ears rub against my ears and caused pain when lifting weights they press against my ears so I use upper buckles instead. When tightening the chin strap it feels like im being choked so adjust accordingly.

“Easy to Use, Great Workout, Excellent Construction”
I sit at a desk a lot. This gives me a chronic stiff neck. The NeckFlex has been awesome at giving me a way to stretch and strengthen my neck. It's vastly helped with my constantly stiff neck. […] The construction is top notch. All the stitching is clean, the nylon is super heavy duty, and the padding is very comfortable. It's easily adjustable for everything from my wife's petite head up to my big 'ol biscuit. The included elastic band is the perfect length and weigh. […] The doorway adapter works great and is similarly well constructed. […] the chain allows you to hook up dumbbells or plates which is great. […] Everything comes in a nice drawstring bag, so if you go to a gym, it'll keep everything together. 100% would recommend. […] This is a buy it for life kinda purchase as this puppy will outlast you.

“Quality stands out”
The craftsmanship of this product standouts. The stitching looks very clean and well done. The fit was perfect for both myself and my son. Since using the ballistic my chronic neck pain, due to my manual labor job, has subsided greatly. Its especially noticable at the end of the day when it typically would hurt the most. I love the carrying bag that fits all the accessories and harness. […] He's a young athlete and I have him uses it for preventing injury. […] Plus who doesn't like supporting a small business.

“Best here on Amazon”
It's a premium product that costs a little bit more than the cheap stuff. But you get what you pay for. It's a complete kit for home training. The instructional videos gave me everything I needed to know. Extremely comfortable. It's fully adjustable, so it fits perfectly. The durability and versatility of exercise and rehab options are pretty obvious. Easy. Plus, it has kind of a cool factor lol. This company has lots of patents and put in the design work. It shows, and is working for me!

“WAY cheaper than a 4 way neck machine”
This thing is awesome. Started looking into training my neck (never really focused on it) after listening to Dr. Huberman detail how important and beneficial it is. I have a garage gym so a 4 way neck machine wasn't ideal or practical, so it was the "towel and plate" method for me UNTIL I came across this awesome product. I would highly recommend this product, way safer and MUCH more comfortable than using plates. I'll admit it looks a little goofy (wife made fun of me the first time she saw me using it) but it's well worth it. Highly recommend!

“Excellent quality”
For myself, I purchased this. Ultimately, I think it's the best neck support I've ever seen or used since it's durable, effective, and adaptable, all of which I appreciate. Besides the clean stitching, the nylon is extremely durable and the padding is extremely comfortable. There are a lot of excellent things about this product.

“Epic”
Picked this up to accent my regular weight lifting and because neck workouts would be much easier with this device than trying to balance plates or dumbbells on my head. […] I've been using it about two months, about every other day or every third day (flexion & extension exercises don't make my neck sore but the lateral ones certainly do, with that epic stretch, so I can't do it every day), and I've gained about an inch to my neck already. […] The thick band it comes with is very good though and provides a decent amount of resistance, especially if you choke up on it a bit […] Highly recommended.

“Very comfortable & built like a tank”
After reading so many reviews about the durability and comfort problems with other brands, I decided to give Neck Flex a try. It's obvious that the Ballistic Kevlar Series is built to last. It's also very comfortable to wear. It took a while to get it adjusted properly, but once I did, the Neck Flex stayed absolutely stable on my head. With the chain attached to the dog ear buckles and hanging 45lbs of weight, the Neck Flex did not slide or move on my head in any way. […] The Neck Flex is really expensive compared to the other neck harness' out there, but for me it was worth the extra money.

I didn't like this at all and placed some duct tape over the Kevlar fabric to protect it. “Very rugged and mostly comfortable”
The only potential improvement that comes to mind is something that makes it more comfortable for your ears. The ears are rubbed a bit during motion. I have the fit adjusted to be snug - will try a little tighter. I might help to have the chin strap (the main culprit I think) biased toward the front - it's currently set midway, such that there's no discerning front vs back.

What if the listing photograph had been right?
Removing the five reviews that complain only about the chain and plates raises the Original from 4.1 to 4.2 stars, and the four-product average from 4.38 to 4.43. The honest answer is that it moves the numbers less than you would expect.
The Original was our first Amazon listing and its photography showed a chain and weight plates that did not ship in the box. Five written reviews — rated 1, 1, 2, 3 and 3 — are about that and nothing else. Every one of them says the product itself is good. "The harness is perfect. It fits perfect, it's built perfect. It's comfortable. It's easy to put on. It's high quality," wrote Daniel M., before giving it three stars for the missing chain.
So here is the thought experiment, run honestly:

| Without the five photography complaints | 4.24★ | 4.43★ |
| Illustrative only: if the Original had scored what the correctly-photographed MMB Pro scored | 4.74★ | 4.63★ |
The first two rows are arithmetic. The third is a hypothetical and is labelled as one — we can't know what the Original would have scored with better photographs, only what its sibling scored with them.
Two findings are sharper than the averages, though.
Both of the Original's written one-star reviews are about the photograph, not the product. Not one written one-star review on that listing criticises how the harness works.
The single most-helpful-voted review across the entire Amazon corpus is the photography complaint — 14 shoppers marked it useful, more than any positive review received. That is the clearest possible signal of what buyers wanted warning about, and it was a problem we created in the listing rather than in the product.
The MMB Pro is the control in this experiment. Same company, same materials, same assembly — listed later, photographed correctly. 4.7 stars, zero one-star reviews.
The critical reviews, with responses
Every review of four stars or below that raises a criticism is published here, worst last, with a response underneath.
Responses cite other reviews in this archive rather than marketing copy. Where a criticism is correct, we say so. Where a design issue was later fixed, we say what changed and when. No review has been attributed to a competitor, and none has been removed.
“No plates included”
Kind of disappointed this didn't come with any plates. Based on the photos it clearly looks like a few weight plates are included. It's my fault for not reading throughly but I do think the pictures are slightly misleading. Other than that this seems high quality!
4★Amazon Customer · MMB Pro Series · Reviewed in United States on 2 February 2024 Verified Purchase · 5 people found this helpful · Source
ResponseOur error, not the buyer's. The Original was our first Amazon listing, and its photography showed a chain and weight plates that did not ship in the box. The written description said so; the photographs implied otherwise, and photographs are what people look at. We did not catch it. Buyers paid roughly $100 expecting hardware that wasn't included, and they were right to say so.
14 reviewers in this archive specifically praise what the kit does contain. Dane Wence itemises it — "The included elastic band is the perfect length and weigh… The doorway adapter works great… Everything comes in a nice drawstring bag." CN, who bought the Original knowing it had no chain: "It's not just a harness. It comes as a full neck training kit with a specific band that works for every level of strength, a door anchor for home workouts, carrying bag etc… the band offers plenty of resistance and the harness can hook directly to any machine with a cable."
“Resistance bands > Neck Flex”
The idea behind this neck harness is good but it is not comfortable and you will get a much better workout using good quality elastic bands from American Barbell or EliteFTS. Iron Neck as well as Neck Flex are overpriced because you can achieve at least the same thing, with more comfort, safety and neck stimulation, using quality elastic bands. […] The quality of the material and stitching seems of high quality but the product is not comfortable compared to some other neck harnesses on the market. The chain is too long and can only be used by wrapping it through a plate.
3★Bison · Ballistic Kevlar® Series · Reviewed in United States on 9 March 2024 Verified Purchase · 8 people found this helpful · Source
ResponseA fair argument, worth reading in full at the source. Bison's position is that quality elastic bands used directly against the head do the job for less. He isn't wrong that bands work — the Neck Flex is itself a band-anchoring system, and the band is what most reviews here describe using. What the harness adds is a fixed anchor that spreads load across the skull rather than a band edge, plus attachment points for a chain, a cable stack or plates.
On his safety point, which is the serious part of his review: he's right that anchoring a band low and pulling against it loads the cervical spine in compression. The instructional videos place the door anchor at or above head height for that reason. J. Mach reached the same concern from the other direction: "training your neck can be dangerous: if a band snaps or the harness breaks, you can get injured." Owl noted the band ships with "a permanently attached carabiner at each end. Which is good for neck safety."
“Quality is lacking”
Bought this for my son. After using it for several weeks he told me that it's really uncomfortable to use and that it seems cheaply made. Not at all what I was expecting considering the price. I've looked at it myself and considering the materials and the overall build quality of it it's definitely overpriced and not really worth how much they are asking for it.

Response25 reviewers specifically address build quality or longevity — the most-cited attribute in the whole archive. Dane Wence: "This is a buy it for life kinda purchase as this puppy will outlast you."
That said, a strap failing inside a year is a warranty case and should have been replaced. This is a concrete cost of selling through Amazon: the platform masks the buyer's email address, so a customer with a defective unit has no direct line to us and we have no way to reach him. “Does NOT come with chain for free weights”
The harness is perfect. It fits perfect, it's built perfect. It's comfortable. It's easy to put on. It's high quality. But it doesn't come with everything that's advertised. If you can get it cheap then it's the best harness on the market

“Not totally for me but a good product”
The head piece is comfortable and everything feels like it's good quality. I had read a little about the benefits of strengthening your neck and decided to check this out. This thing will definitely get you feeling the burn in your neck muscles and so I can see how this would be effective. I just don't like attaching this to my door and doing neck reps and im honestly a little worried about over straining my neck and hurting myself. Other than that, if you know what you're doing this thing is great.
3★Frankyj739 · The Original head harness · Reviewed in United States on 5 November 2023 Verified Purchase · 3 people found this helpful · Source
ResponseA reasonable caution, and the reason the kit ships with a band rather than plates. Progressive band resistance lets you find a working load without balancing weight on your head. Two buyers came to it for exactly that — "Using plates right away was a little intimidating for such a sensitive muscle, so I liked that this came with the bands" (Amazon Customer), and A. Thomas, who bought it "because neck workouts would be much easier with this device than trying to balance plates or dumbbells on my head." No equipment removes the need to learn the movement and build up gradually.
“Good quality. Bit misleading.”
Product is great quality. Built well. Be aware, this does not include actual weights, only head piece + attachments

Two caveats we won't paper over: ArmanCTZ, a four-star reviewer, found the dog ears rubbed his ears and worked around it using the upper buckles; Michael J Arensdorf raised the same point. Ear rub and hair pull are real for some head shapes.

ResponseNeck training is slow, and this expectation is reasonable. The most specific timeline in the archive is A. Thomas, roughly two months of every-second-or-third-day training on the Original: "I've gained about an inch to my neck already."
We're deliberately conservative here. Only 4 reviewers report a specific, concrete outcome — a size gain or a resolved pain complaint. Many more say they like it without claiming a measured result, and we have not counted those.
“Quality is fine but misleading advertising. Rip off on price.”
I thought I'm getting a good deal for a $100 including the head harness, elastic band, and a weight chain. Except that there's no weight chain. Instead you're getting a door anchor thingie. Needless to say, it's useless. For me at least. I don't want to be pulling against my door. Certainly don't want to ruin the door frame or paint... Just know that you're paying a $100 without a chain, and that you can buy a comparable harness with a chain for $20! Yikes. I had to buy the chain separately.

“Most high priced rediculas thing I have purchased in aWhile”
This product is definitely made Well and I guess could be potentially great for someone who wants to use it to strengthen their neck for what I have no idea maybe they think it will help them in using their heads but for me it's expensive and makes me feel like a complete clown when I put it on !!

Response12 reviewers address price directly and conclude it was worth it, several while conceding it is expensive. GLENN: "really expensive compared to the other neck harness' out there, but for me it was worth the extra money." Owl: "it's a little pricey, but very well made so I can't complain at all."
On looking silly in it — fair, and common. The Mauer Family got there and landed elsewhere: "I'll admit it looks a little goofy (wife made fun of me the first time she saw me using it) but it's well worth it."
“Slides out of place for me”
It keeps slipping on my head. I've tied it as tight as I can, with and without a beanie on, but as soon as there is resistance when I pull my head to one side, or lift it up, or rotate, the harness slides or shifts to opposite direction. Maybe I'm using it wrong? I need grip tape on my head I think.

ResponseFit is adjustment-sensitive, and another buyer documented the fix. Owl bought the MMB Pro, went back to the instructional videos, and posted an update to his own five-star review: "Don't tighten the neck strap much at all. Tighten the two straps in the back really tight. That makes it grab the head firmly and then it's really comfortable." That is the opposite of the instinct, which is to cinch the chin strap — and cinching the chin strap is exactly what lets a harness rotate under load.
15 reviewers specifically address fit and stability. The most concrete is GLENN on the Ballistic: "With the chain attached to the dog ear buckles and hanging 45lbs of weight, the Neck Flex did not slide or move on my head in any way." Reborned A Stoic, who had returned another brand over fit: "This one fits my small head perfect and doesn't slide."
“Very Misleading”
The pictures in the advertisement shows multiple men using a chain and weights. Neither of these are going to be in your package. Even though the chains are for sure marked in the description. A resistance band and velco strap to go around your head is certainly not worth 100$. For 20$ yes but not 100$. I will be returning immediately.

“Over-priced Junk”
I wanted to like this thing. I could have spent $20-30 on a cheaper version of this without losing any value whatsoever. The core issue is that the device does not sit still on your head. The fix, I believe, would simply be to add two straps to the back that are connected to the chin strap (though reworking it to have a more snug fit would be better) to create more stability. This thing moves all over the place and yes, I strapped it on very tightly to minimize this effort without luck. The padding seems like a great way to ruin the product unless you plan on washing it... it absorbs sweat. As I said... a much cheaper version can do the same thing and you can substitute a towel for padding if you really need it, which you don't! Again... for the price, there is nothing worth even half the value. I dislike leaving such a review, but I can't in good faith leave a good one.

The 124 five-star ratings with nothing written
About 124 of the 234 ratings are five stars with no written review, and Amazon does not publish them individually — they have no author, date or text, and exist only inside the aggregate percentages.
Of roughly 160 five-star ratings, we have the text of 36. The rest were left by customers who tapped five stars and moved on. There is nothing to quote, so they cannot be listed here — but they are real ratings by real verified buyers, and they are counted in every average on this page. Anyone wanting to confirm them can read the star distribution on each listing, which is where they show up.
Notes on this archive
Every review above was read directly from Amazon and transcribed verbatim, including original spelling and punctuation. Long reviews are marked […] where shortened and linked to the full text at the source, because the words belong to the people who wrote them.
This archive is not yet complete. Amazon caps each public review filter at ten results; enumerating under multiple sort orders confirms at least 82 written reviews across the three US listings, more than are published here.
